Just wanted to share the knowledge! I had no idea that you could do any of this until recently. BetterTouchTool supports: Macbook Trackpad Magic Trackpad 1, 2 & 3 Magic Mouse 1, 2 & 3 Touch Bar customization Siri/Apple Remote Normal Mouse Gestures. Now when I use the mouse, I basically don’t have to go back to the trackpad for anything, which is really convenient. A couple of days after I posted it, I ended up adding some widgets for Zoom that may actually be the most useful of the bunch. Last week I posted my craziest Mac experiment in a while a script that handles adding and updating myriad BetterTouchTool Touch Bar (and menu bar) widgets. The BetterTouchTool Remote app or BTT Remote is an iOS app that allows you to remotely control a Mac as long as you’re on the same Wi-Fi network. The app not only makes it easy to control all the sequences in one place, it actually extends the default Mac capabilities to. BetterTouchTool Touch Bar followup: Zoom buttons. So I’ve now added the following gestures to my Magic Mouse: This category is to discuss the many ways BetterTouchTool and the new Shortcuts app can work together. BetterTouchTool is the application any MacBook Pro needs (to bring some sense into the Touch Bar, amongst other things).

But with BetterTouchTool, you can add custom gestures that make use of them, plus combine them with modifier keys, etc. It turns out that the Magic Mouse actually does support more than two-finger gestures, but Apple just doesn’t include any by default in the system (understandably, since they are a little fiddly and difficult to trigger on the smaller surface area of the Magic Mouse). The ones I use the most on the trackpad (that aren’t available on the Magic Mouse) are the three-finger tap to look up a definition or preview a link in Safari, the two-finger swipe from the right edge to bring up Notification Center, and the four-finger pinch to bring up Launchpad. So I use a Magic Mouse 2 with my MacBook Pro, and I love it, but I miss that it doesn’t fully replicate every gesture and function that’s available from the built-in trackpad.
